Study issues and exam stress care in Delhi and online
Studying is demanding, and some pressure is normal. It becomes a problem when you cannot concentrate, keep falling behind, freeze in exams or lose interest in work you used to manage.
Study difficulties have many possible causes, including stress, anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, attention difficulties such as ADHD, or a specific learning difficulty. Finding the cause makes the help more useful.
Common signs
- Reading the same page again and again without taking it in
- Putting off work until it piles up
- Panic, blanking out or physical symptoms before or during exams
- Falling marks, or a big gap between effort and results
- Losing motivation or interest in studies
- Poor sleep, irritability or pulling away from friends at exam time
When to see a psychiatrist
Seek help if study problems last more than a few weeks, if exam anxiety is stopping you from performing, or if stress is affecting sleep, mood or health. For school students, a parent should come along.

How he can help
He looks at how you study, sleep and feel, and checks for anxiety, low mood or attention difficulties, with input from parents where suitable. A plan can include practical study strategies, ways to manage exam anxiety, therapy, an assessment for ADHD or learning difficulties where needed, and medicine only if it will help.

Questions
Is it just stress, or could it be ADHD?
Both can make it hard to concentrate. ADHD usually shows signs from childhood and in many settings, not only around exams. An assessment helps tell them apart.
Can students consult online?
Yes. Students in India or abroad can consult online by video or voice call. A parent or guardian should join for students under 18.
